2008 Progress Report
The Girlfriend Factor is growing up. As we head into the busy fall season of 2008, it's truly hard to believe how far we've come in such a short period of time. Two of our Go Girls graduated in June and are now on their way to new lives of self-sufficiency. Twenty-two other Go Girls are heading back to school this fall with our support. The notes we receive from them acknowledge the important impact GFF is making upon their lives and the excitement they have about their own future.
Our Evening at Club Cabana event on October 18th was a smashing success! Eight business men stepped forward to become our Fabulously original Charter Cabana Boys by donating $2,000 each to GFF. By doing so they have helped us launch our new donor base of men, affectionately to be known as Cabana Boys. Cabana Boys are men who understand the depth and clout of women's position in our society and the value of supporting our organization. Special thanks go to:
Mitch Epsteen, Pacifica
Brain Harnik, Attorney
Harold Matzner, Spencer's Restaurant
Dr. Peter Scheer
Dr. Mark Sofonio
Tim Snyder, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
Terry Weiner, Leeds & Son
Perry Zeigler, Merrill Lynch
We're furiously working to obtain grants to assist us with the development of an exciting new public awareness campaign that will highlight the importance of education for women. We hope to launch the campaign in January and are excited about the impact it will have on women in our community. Add to that a matching funds scholarship program that is in the works and 2008 should be a groundbreaking year for GFF!
We so greatly appreciate the ongoing support of individuals who get what we do. But if you haven't yet become a Girlfriend or sponsor, we hope you will join us this year as we make a significant difference in other women's lives. It's going to be a great ride!
Spread the word!
Don't forget to e-mail your friends so they can check out our website and become Girlfriends, too!
